A memory I have of fear is when I was at my brothers house. Joel (my brother) and his roommate invited weird people over that I had never met. They were quite nice when I first met them. But then  things got a little out of hand and my brothers roommate pulled out a knife and was going to stab the guy they invited over. That made me experience fear because I thought I was about to watch someone die in front of me.
From this experience I can tell you that fear paralyzes you. It's makes your body freeze so you just get stuck in the situation. The face of fear on a person is almost indiscribable. The face of fear, before your brain allows you to analyze the situation is wide eyes and open mouthed. Extreme fear can give you PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). Where is can effect you to the point where you can't function normally in society. Fear can effect your senses by making everything so much more extreme. You're mind will trick you into thinking you see something or hear something that you should be afraid of to keep you on your toes. The only thing someone can do to mater fear is to be able to deal with or cope with the situation in which fear presents itself.

What is success? Success is when you achieve something that you have been working towards.

How do you judge if people are successful or not? When people are successful they are happy. Therefore happy people are successful.

Can success be interpreted differently by people? Yes.  If someone has different goals in life, than obviously their definition of success would differ form mine.

The extent of life is unnecessary

I believe life should be short. When you are old, you can't do anything except wait to die. Extending life just seems ( besides being pointless) like it would suck. Scientist shouldn't try to extend life. People are destined to die! It's a natural thing. I would like to die whenever I would be ready. If I could see my grandchildren get married, that would be a good time for me to die, so I will know my purpose in life could be fulfilled.

I agree with the author that “adding years to a life doesn’t necessarily make it any fuller" because once you have accomplished what you have needed to do in life, you should be done. People want to live longer because they are afraid of death when it shouldn't be conceived as something scary. I can't confidently say there are any benefits of living longer. Maybe the fountain of youth can cure rapidly aging diseases, of diseases that cause someone to die early in life. So in a nutshell, I don't really see any benefits, so there really is no competition in the sense that the benefits outweigh the negatives.

I believe

I believe The unknown is what I am most afraid of, but the unknown is what will give me my best experiences.
I believe that men and woman have stereotypical lives. Growing up, there is so much propaganda that tells men that they can't have feelings; it's okay if they cheat, or are abusive because it's never the man's fault. Women grow up believing they need to get married and have children. I believe women are just getting into the age where it is common to have careers. Women are altering their bodies, not for medical reasons, but so they can be perceived as more attractive. The thing that is all drilled into our heads from school and parents are: go to college, get a job, get married and have a family. Having a secure future is what we believe we have to look forward to when we get out and live on our own. So much is expected of us - and we in a sense- lie to ourselves, believing this is normal.
I believe people rely on technology so often because they want an escape from their boring reality. When you look around, you see melancholy faces. Just looking at myself, I feel almost trapped. I strongly feel as though it damages the human spirit, because we are programmed and expected to fallow certain paths. Our lives are in a monotonous repetition. We are meant to explore, see knew things that no man has seen before. There is a passion in everyone for adventure. But modern society has repressed us with taxes, fashion trends, ties and cigarettes. Because people are stuck in a status quo lifestyle, It's almost scary to even consider a helter- skelter one. But the joy of having an endless changing horizon is indescribable. From my personal life, I have had a relatively boring life. I was engulfed in technology and rarely left my house. But after getting involved in sports, I was able to find myself. I became active and wanted to really live. I want to travel the world after high school. I want to climb mountains, dive deep into the ocean, I want to do dangerous things, but all I want is to experience as much as I can before I become unable to do so. And what drives me nuts is that I could be in a car accident tomorrow and become paralyzed, or die and not be able to see had feel life that's happening around me.  The unknown is what I am most afraid of, but the unknown is what gives people their best experiences.

This week, one thing that worked really well was rambling on about my belief. I didn't sound preachy, and I made it interesting enough to make the reader want to keep reading. Throughout the year I have made a lot of progress. My voice have become really strong. My problem this week was trying to relate my personal life to my work. I don't like putting my personal life because I believe I have a relatively boring life. But with my personal touch is asked for, I will try harder.

My Voice

In any book there is a voice, an original twist form the authors own words. My voice, I believe is very strong. I have strong opinion on practically anything and everything. I don't believe that a voice in your writing is something that develops.  You may be able to teach yourself to use different vocabulary, or write about something new, but your true voice is always going to be there.
